There is a major push from environmental groups to designate over one million acres as a new national monument around the Grand Canyon in Arizona. This is clearly another piece of the puzzle to accomplish the 30×30 agenda to lock Americans out of our lands. Not only would this land grab include federal property but it would also encompass state as well as hundreds of acres of private property. The Grand Canyon and the surrounding areas have numerous protections already in place. There are restrictions upon restrictions, a national monument will only create more restrictions to keep you, the people from enjoying these lands.
There is not widespread support for the creation of this monument although the media and environmental organizations will make it seem that this is widely popular. The clip below, shows both sides of the issue. Clearly this will affect not just recreation, grazing, and mining that occurs in this area.
We have seen how large monument designations restrict access and hurt everyone who uses the land in some form. The map below highlights the three areas that would encompass the new national monument in red:
You can see the all the land surrounding the proposal is national forests, national park or reservation land. The land in red already has layers upon layers of laws, regulations and executive orders that protect the land, wildlife and habitat. Mining and ranching that occur in this area already have to adhere to reclamation and environmental protections that are the strongest in the world. Because of all these protections that already exist what is the real purpose for the designation? Environmental groups want you off the land. All of you. Every form of use. They will do this by creating a monument and then leveraging that management into Wilderness designations.
BlueRibbon Coalition is currently litigating the abuse of the Antiquities Act and the possible designation of this monument would be yet another abuse of the Antiquities Act if President Biden bypasses Congress and makes the designation. We encourage everybody to oppose this designation to ensure that those pushing the 30×30 agenda don’t make it look like a one-sided debate.
Members of the public need to express their concerns through the form below with this monument. Environmental groups will gather tens of thousands of comments in support of the creation of a monument, we need more. Submitting comments shows a record of disapproval and sets the stage for litigation if it becomes necessary. Join us in telling Congress that they cannot continue to lock the American people out of our public lands.
How are us senior citizen and psychically challenge suppose to enjoy “Our Public Lands” when you locked them up so only the elite that can miles upon miles can use them? I view this as discrimination at its best and yet I thought we had laws to protect use, I guess not when the anti access groups have all the money to lobby us off the land.
We enjoy access to all areas. We are conscience of the environment. The Havasu 4 Wheelers are an organization that works with local government agencies to assist with yearly desert cleaning all over our area.
We’ve been off roading for 50 years and fighting closures for most of that time. Have been promised that monument status will not close access only to see locked gates within 6 months. Please don’t continue to rob us of our beloved country.
We are rapidly being shut out of our public lands and being corralled into the Citys. This has to stop immediately! Our Children will never know what a beautiful country we have if the special interest groups keep getting their way. this is a hideous form of hate, prejudice and discrimination in the form of intolerance towards others. Basically if your not a hiker you cant enjoy natures beauty.
These new designations are a huge abuse of the antiquities act and are extremely detrimental to the people that live and work in the area. Public lands should be utilized for the good of the public. With competent management, we can protect and preserve the lands while still allowing for use.
If we don’t participate in the NEPA process we lose access that is what the environmental groups count on. Take time to study thier proposals and comment and share you opinions or lose your access. They will be in your backyard next. Count on that.
Enough, stop, no more
We have seen too much monument declarations already. The outlying areas of the Grand Canyon have allowed people to explore wonderful open lands without having to put up with the congestion within the National Park itself. It should always remain an open to the public designation and creating new monument designations will do just the opposite.
Do not do this! Stop!
Alot of the places that we visit are only available to visit with the use of these trails. Once they close there will no way me and my wife can see them again. We are both unable to hike due to are disabilities. This is just not acceptable to anyone that has a disability.I payed my dues to this great country and now I’m old and just want the right to visit these places. I ask that there be no more trails 🔐 I love are country and believe I have a right to see all of America with my own eyes.
We need to do more than talk about things. We need to take action. We have to support the fight. We have to take a stand!
Talking about how to cross a River is important. Teaching to not leave trash is important… they are. But that isn’t going to keep areas from being pull from us. It’s not going to stop lands from being shut down. The opposition watches ever tiny move land use agencies make and if they slip up at all and it benefits their cause the file suit. We need to stop all of this.
