Payette, National Forest in Idaho is considering many new projects in the East Fork, South Fork Salmon River area. BRC appreciates all the work that the local Idaho groups have done on this management plan and we have seen a lot of local activity to submit comments and stand up for recreation access. We support these groups in their effort and wanted to add our comment to all the others that people have been sending in.
Many permanent roads and trails are being proposed after the USFS was sued for not including unauthorized routes. They also are considering decommissioning roads to improve watersheds. BRC believes with proactive management solutions can be found without closures. Management through closures it not responsible management.
