Critical Opportunity to Improve Our National Parks: NPS Asks For Visitor Feedback on Services

The National Park Service is requesting feedback on the services they and their contractors provide. This is a critical opportunity to improve our National Parks, especially opportunities for recreation. Read more about what the NPS is looking for, then add your own via the form below by October 9th!

NPS Asks for Comments
Why you should submit here, even if you already have elsewhere!

We keep them honest. If everyone only comments through the government/agency site, we have to take their word on how many comments were received. By submitting through BRC, we create an independent record of our community’s response that can’t be buried or under-reported.

We protect your voice. If this fight ends up in court, having our own record of submitted comments means we don’t have to wait a year or more for a government agency to turn over documents. We can move quickly with proof that thousands of you spoke up.
We keep you in the loop. When you comment through our site, we can send you updates on what comes next. If you only use the government/agency site, you’re depending on them to tell you what happens next — and they won’t.

Double coverage matters. Even if you’ve already commented through the government/agency site, submitting through ours makes your voice count twice — once in their system, and once in ours. That way they know the OHV community is watching and tracking every move.

For years, BRC has been trusted to run action alerts like this. Thousands of members and supporters have used this system effectively to defend access to public lands. This isn’t about collecting your info — it’s about building the strongest, most transparent record possible to hold agencies accountable.

The National Park Service (NPS) has opened a public comment period on how to improve visitor services on NPS managed lands and waters. This is a critical opportunity for recreation users to make their voices heard. The National Park Service needs to hear from you and your experiences on these public lands regarding reservation systems, areas that need maintenance, repairs and other deficiencies you have found from the National Park Service. Nothing will improve if we do not make our voices heard and provide our experiences to the agency. Comments are accepted through October 9. 2025.

"We’re inviting those who know our parks best, the visitors, to share their experiences,” said the Acting Assistant Secretary for Fish and Wildlife and Parks Kevin Lilly. “Your perspective serves a vital role in improving visitor services and helping us enhance operations across the National Park System.”

We strongly encourage you to share your own personal experiences below. The NPS comment period is our chance to call for meaningful reforms. It's not often that the government asks for the public support in shaping policy and reforms. We need a system that ensures concessionaires are held accountable, services keep pace with demand, and recreation on America’s public lands remains viable for future generations.

When making your comment, keep in mind what the NPS is asking for: "The NPS expects the American public will have useful information and perspectives to share about the value that visitor services provide, including how they can be improved or otherwise changed, whether some services are unnecessary and should be eliminated, and ideas about expanding or developing new services. The NPS requests that commenters provide, to the extent possible, first-hand accounts of visitor services that were provided by the NPS or its partners that support specific suggestions for improvement or change. This will help the NPS evaluate suggestions made by the American public for their benefit."

Use the tool below to send a message to NPS and include your experiences on NPS managed lands. Make sure to include your unique experience and specific requests of areas that need addressed! Comments are due October 9th!
