Falling water levels at Lake Powell have left launch ramps high and dry, cutting off boat access at Hite and straining Bullfrog. The National Park Service is proposing two new ramps to restore reliable access before conditions get worse. Submit your comment to NPS by April 24 and tell them to move forward with the new ramps.
The BLM has approved the SR9 Camping Management Plan, closing dispersed campsites near Zion and replacing them with a controlled campground system that may never fully be built. The agency appears to be leaning on a SUWA-commissioned literature to justify the decision, not actual field data from the SR9 corridor. Tell the BLM State Director this is not acceptable and recreation policy must reflect the public interest.
A new WDFW rule proposal would reverse the current open-unless-closed policy on more than one million acres of state-managed land, effectively closing every unsigned route with no realistic path to reopening them. The cost to rural communities, volunteers, and emergency responders will be significant. Contact WDFW now and demand they keep these lands accessible.

The BLM is revising management plans for 2.5 million acres of western Oregon public lands, and without clear direction, motorized access could take a serious hit. BRC is pushing for an Enhanced Access Alternative to keep roads and trails open. Submit your comment to the BLM before March 23 and tell them access is non-negotiable.
Ouray County Commission has raised resource concerns without input from motorized recreation groups which could lead to a closure of the popular Yankee Boy Basin Road in Colorado’s San Juan Mountains. Contact the Ouray County Commissioners and urge them to pursue mitigation solutions that protect the landscape while keeping this iconic access route open to the public.
E-bikes are a vital access tool for older riders, people with physical limitations, and families with young children who want to recreate together. BLM Colorado River Valley Field Office is seeking public comment to allow Class 1 e-bikes to access designated MTB trails across most of the field office. BRC supports this and we think you should too. Comments are due March 25.
California State Parks’ Draft EIS for Carnegie SVRA proposes converting significant open riding terrain into trails-only areas, adding new closures, and expanding buffer zones in a park specifically created for motorized recreation. BlueRibbon Coalition is concerned these changes shift management away from the SVRA’s core mission and reduce riding opportunities which are funded by OHV users. Riders are encouraged to submit comments supporting the No Action Alternative by March 10, 2026.
