Carnegie SVRA Draft EIS Could Further Restrict OHV Access – Comment Now To Protect Access

California State Parks’ Draft EIS for Carnegie SVRA proposes converting significant open riding terrain into trails-only areas, adding new closures, and expanding buffer zones in a park specifically created for motorized recreation. BlueRibbon Coalition is concerned these changes shift management away from the SVRA’s core mission and reduce riding opportunities which are funded by OHV users. Riders are encouraged to submit comments supporting the No Action Alternative by March 10, 2026.

Defend Access to Tongass National Forest: Comment on the USFS Plan Revision

The U.S. Forest Service is considering major updates to the Tongass National Forest plan that could further restrict motorized access, road maintenance, and multiple-use opportunities across nearly 17 million acres. Submit your comments before March 20, 2026, and urge the Forest Service to prioritize balanced, smart management that protects both the Tongass and the public’s right to access and enjoy it.

Mojave Trail - Judge Closes Routes Mojave Desert WEMO

Minimization Criteria Overreach and the Closure of 2,200 Miles of Routes in the Mojave Desert WEMO Plan

A recent federal court ruling will close more than 2,200 miles of designated OHV routes in the Mojave Desert via an expansive judicial interpretation of BLM’s minimization criteria. FLPMA requires the Bureau of Land Management to balance multiple-use recreation while preventing unnecessary degradation, yet the current application turns minimization into a default closure mandate that overrides Congress’s intent. BlueRibbon Coalition is calling on the Department of the Interior to immediately rescind or revise this framework—contact your representatives via the form below and tell them to support balanced public land management.

Stop Vermont’s Wakesports Rule Changes That Would Dramatically Cut Lake Access

After Vermont’s sweeping 2024 wakesport rule cut eligible lakes from 73 to just 30, state regulators are now considering even stricter changes in 2026. Proposed revisions to the Use of Public Waters Rules could reduce wakesurfing access to as few as 18 lakes, further limiting opportunities for Vermont families and boaters. Submit your comment by February 20 to oppose the new wake sports restrictions and protect lake access.

Mojave Trail Closure

Rogue Judge Closes 2,200 Miles of OHV Routes in the Mojave Desert

A federal judge has ordered the closure of 2,200 miles of legally designated OHV routes and vast swaths of the Mojave Desert—imposing land-use policy from the bench without Congress, community input, or accountability. This precedent puts all public land access at risk. Tell the Department of Justice to step in now and stop judicial overreach before these closures spread nationwide.

Help Stop Little Parke Creek Motorized Road Closure in Washington

Help Stop Little Parke Creek Motorized Road Closure in Washington

Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife is taking public comment on a proposal to permanently close Little Parke Creek Road to motorized use, a move that would cut off access to a larger network of routes and set a troubling precedent for future closures. The SEPA process skipped reasonable alternatives and moved forward without meaningful motorized-user involvement. Urge WDFW to reconsider by February 5, 2026.
